FBDP Is the Recipient of the 2003 H. Albert Webb Railroad Preservation Award

PAGE UPDATED ON:  FEBRUARY 5, 2012

The Massachusetts Bay Railroad Enthusiasts, Inc., (MBRRE) selected FBDP as the recipient of its 2003 H. Albert Webb Railroad Preservation Award. This $10,000 award was made by Leigh A. Webb in the memory of his father, the late H. Albert Webb, who was a longtime member of the Railroad Enthusiasts.

The money is being used by FBDP to establish a segment of narrow-gauge track on the roadbed of the Billerica & Bedford Railroad, the country's first two-foot-gauge railway. The track will be an "interpretive display" to educate the public about the B&B's history. It may also be used for future "live steam" excursions such as the event held last September for the B&B's 125th anniversary. photo
